So my day was given over to selecting new recipes that taste good, are cost effective to prepare and believe it not, have a shelf life of more than one day. I reviewed a delicious Patty James Kale salad made with kale, of course, raw cashews, apple, avocado, red onion, and ginger. Sounds good, right. There's delicious local Jersey kale available now. So come by and test it out for yourselves. I spent a good part of the afternoon communicating with tourism pros from other towns, at the NJ city and state level. Clearly letting people know they can "GET" local and organic food on the boardwalk is a MUST. Shout out to www.gayasburypark.com with whom I intend to do business.
Check us out at the New Jersey Shore store in New York city next Thursday, June 25th between 11 - 3 at 813 Broadway between 11th and 12th. I will remind you again before Thursday.
Share your thoughts and come and see us if you are in the area. Better still, make us your destination.
Hey. Great to run across this blog and see that you're on the boardwalk in AP. I've been in Red Bank for about a year. Prior to that I've lived in Portland, OR and Minneapolis; so, moving here was a bit of a foodie culture shock! I'm excited to check out your cafe. I've mostly looked for food destinations by reading TriCity News, and posting questions and reading Chowhound.com. I found D'Jeet in Middletown by reading chowhound and they had a great idea last fall. They hosted a prix fix dinner and invited an organic farmer and a couple other to talk about slow food, locavore, etc...I couldn't go because i had to work but it sounded awesome and I keep checking their website to see if they're going to do it again. I love your Yoga idea. The library where I work has been offering yoga all month for free and it has been packed. It really brings people in. I wish you the best in your endeavours. I'm moving to AP next month and will definitely stop in. It's nice knowing you're there.
ReplyDeleteWow how nice to meet you civilcivilservant. I have an idea along these lines which I hope to incorporate sometime in July when the "SUN" comes out. It includes a communal table, prix fixe meal at which say 12 people who frequent my place but do not know one another are invited for a rather special dinner. I was in the city today and had a great mean at Le Pain Quotidienne. That lunch inspired me. I have also identified a few chefs willing to come down and either do a demonstration or full mean. There have been extremely interesting people to stop in and return. So please identify yourself once you move to AP and keep sharing the ideas. By the way, I am actually a Seattle native. Thanks again and I will be looking out for your comments.
ReplyDeleteI mean I had a great meal, not" mean"
