Another ongoing topic of conversation from customers who have discovered Sea Greens and want others to appreciate what they've discovered is how I should let more people know about the business. They say, "You can't tell what you are selling from the boardwalk." Suggestions include removing my logo and putting up pictures and the words, smoothies, soups, sandwiches and salads so that there can be no mistake about the products being sold. While I appreciate the input of others, so far I have found that even with a menu sandwich board in the middle of the boardwalk (which I had), people still walk in and ask what we are selling. They even come inside, look at the menu board which is now inside and ask what we are selling; or they ask if they can buy something that is not on the menu board.
The rising cost of wheatgrass brings the bottom line into focus for me. While I am committed to offering wheatgrass, I realized that the weekly price of wheatgrass was fluctuating and that I too had to fluctuate my price. Not only was the price changing from week to week, the yield from a tray was not consistent. Right now I am counting the yield from a tray that measures about 3 inches tall. They tray has produced 6 one ounce shots and I may, "may" be able to get 1.5 more out. This pays for the tray. There is no profit. I know this because I am watching the bottom line.
The off-set is that buyers of wheatgrass are beginning to buy other things. PTL
