Learning from other people

My recent two days at the BlogHer 2010 conference  reminded me just how much we can learn from one another. There were incredible women present, most of whom I did not  meet (personally) and many of those I did meet were the result of surface interactions.  But  the exposure to the community of blogging women left me feeling that my time spent was well worth it. I sat with women I did not know,  we actually tried to listen to each other without rushing to tell our own story; and the organizers were accessible. When the conference was over on Saturday and I'd danced an hour or so at the Blogalicious community party,  I knew that I'd be leaving with five or six  new friendships that could go the distance.

No complaints here. It just makes me understand that there's an art to going to conferences.
