Life is about the questions you ask

So I am throwing myself back into my blog, even though it is not visually exactamente what I want.  I took time off,  if you can believe this, because I got over- stimulated from lurking in an on-line community where lots of rapid fire conversation caused me to be uncertain about what I thought I was doing ;0). What I learned from that experience is that a blog is not the business but that the blog drives the business.

To mark this understanding I will be  attending  the BlogHer 2010 conference in New York City today through Sunday.  "BlogHer is a social media  conference whose mission it is to create opportunities for blogger women  to gain exposure, education, community and economic empowerment.  Can't remember how I first got turned on to them but at the same time I learned about  them, I learned about Blogalicious, an online community  "aimed at celebrating the diversity of women of all ethnicities in social media."    So this year, my professional development will include attending both conferences.

The back story is how to make the most of this experience.  The wisdom teachers state life is about the questions one asks.  So it's not about about what I will get from this investment but how will this experience allow me to share more with others.

I have followed instructions from the 53 page Pre-Conference Guide.  But because I am a newbie and was busy in my offline life, I did not RSVP  early enough to attend the various parties being sponsored by x, y, and z . Now I am on a waitlist for the parties.  I'll be tweeting with birds of a feather and from my own branch.  I invite you to follow me on twitter  @jzshore
